  • Conversion

  • Cost Per Mile (CPM)

Cost Per Mille, or CPM for short, is a metric used in social marketing to determine how much you pay for 1,000 ad impressions. Your ad’s CPM will vary based on your targeting options as well as the quality of your ad. The lowest possible cost per mile rate is $0.01, but a more realistic number will be closer to $0.05-0.10.

  • Cross channel

Cross-channel social marketing refers to strategies that link and leverage multiple social media platforms. It synchronizes messaging and advertising across multiple channels. By reaching your audience in many different places and using the same message everywhere, you are more likely to reach them where they are most receptive. It also streamlines their experience, ensuring consistent brand messaging.

  • Engagement rate

Engagement rate is a tricky metric to interpret. Different social networks define it differently, and what one network considers an engagement might not be counted on another network. Plus, the definition can vary between sources depending on how your information is being presented. At large, engagement rate measures how excited your audience is about your content and how likely they are to interact with it. An engagement rate of 40% means that 40% of your followers saw your post and clicked on something in it (comment, like, share, etc.).

For instance, on Facebook, impressions measure the number of times your Facebook post has been shown in users' feeds.

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

 A KPI is a number that measures a specific result or outcome. Key performance indicators help you determine whether or not your social marketing strategy is working. They’re a measure of progress toward business goals.

  • Native Advertising

Native advertising is a type of advertising in which the advertiser tries to capture attention by offering content that is similar to the surrounding/native content. It is also called sponsored advertising. The native ads are usually presented in a form that does not disrupt the target consumers' experience, which makes it more likely for them to be noticed. Native advertising generally appears as a news article, an editorial, or any other sort of non-traditional ad unit.

  • Re-targeting

Re-targeting allows you to advertise to people who have shown an interest in your business, products, or services. You can display ads that they have seen on a different platform, possibly bringing those once-lost customers back into reach and helping to convert them.

  • Social listening

Social listening is the practice of tracking or monitoring all social media channels for mentions of your brand, products and services, and competitors across all social media platforms. The objective here is “listen” to the market and re-shape social media marketing strategy accordingly.

  • Return on Investment

The ROI of any social media activity is calculated by taking the direct cost of that activity and dividing it into the value of whatever you are getting out of it. By studying and analyzing these key performance indicators (KPIs), you’d better be able to determine ROI and subsequently improve your strategies.

  • Viral

Viral content is any form of media that spreads exponentially and rapidly. The term originated from the way a virus spreads through the human body. A single viral message can be shared with another person, who will then share it with another person and so on, resulting in an exponential increase in audience within a short period.
